How to Treat Baby Eczema

Infantile eczema usually becomes apparent at about the age of 3 months and can cause a lot of distress for baby and its parents.

Adult treatment for eczema is in steps (stepping up if the first line treatment doesn’t work) but treatment for babies with eczema is mainly the use of emulsifying ointments to prevent the skin from becoming dry.

Do this by:

Avoid soap

Use emollient creams

Use steroid cream

Antibiotics or antivirals for a skin infection.

Wet wrapping

Coal tar and icthamol
